Description

This course offers a guide to complying with both federal procurement regulations and Louisiana procurement laws when preparing for, responding to, and recovering from a disaster or emergency. Participants will receive foundational and practical knowledge in the following subjects and topics:

Establishing/updating procurement policies
Determining appropriate procurement methods
Drafting contracts
Identifying potential procurement exceptions and understanding their requirements
Conducting a cost analysis
Avoiding common procurement mistakes
By the end of the course, participants will have a well-rounded skill set in procurement processes and facilitating continuous improvement to build community efficiency and resiliency.

This is a 2-day course. This class is split into different times:

Day one is 12 pm to 4 pm
Day two is 8 am to 12 pm

If lodging/meal is requested, GOHSEP will coordinate with LEPA & the Double Tree Hotel and will send out a confirmation email to participants. DEADLINE for requesting lodging/meals: May 6, 2025) Confirmation emails will be sent by May 9th or before. Check-in will be after 3:00 pm on May 13th (after class) pending request.
