- Description
This course offers hands-on training in key techniques for evaluating and improving performance in dynamic operational environments. Participants will engage in Practical Exercises to simulate real-world scenarios, develop problem-solving skills, and apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings. Tabletop Exercises (TTX) will guide teams through scenario-based discussions, helping them build critical thinking and decision-making capabilities in a controlled, collaborative setting.
Through After Action Reviews (AAR), participants will analyze their performance, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and learn how to apply constructive feedback effectively. Finally, the course will cover Improvement Plans (IP), equipping participants with the tools and strategies to implement lasting change based on insights gained from exercises and reviews.
By the end of the course, participants will have a well-rounded skill set in assessing performance, enhancing team coordination, and driving continuous improvement in both tactical and strategic contexts.

This is a 2-day course. This class is split into different times:
Day one is 12 pm to 4 pm
Day two is 8 am to 12 pm**If lodging/meal is requested, GOHSEP will coordinate with LEPA & the Double Tree Hotel and send out a confirmation email to participants. DEADLINE for requesting lodging/meals: September 24 , 2025. Confirmation emails will be sent to participants by September 26, 2025 or before.
Check-in will be after 3:00 pm on October 1,2025 (after class) pending request. For any cancellations, please contact Trevis.Thompson@la.gov.Cancellations of course will be considered pending registration numbers on September 25th so register and reserve as soon as possible.
