MCIs are disasters, either man-made or natural, in which local agencies and healthcare systems are overwhelmed. An MCI Triage and Management training addresses sorting of mass casualties, assessment of individual casualties, performance of on-scene lifesaving interventions, treatment, stabilization, and evacuation for further treatment in a healthcare facility. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provides a vital role in triaging, stabilizing, and transporting victims. Law enforcement, fire department, rescue, and the general public as well as the whole community plays a vital role in saving lives and doing the most good for the most amount of people.
