Description

This course offers a practicum in the FEMA Public Assistance Process from obtaining a declaration through final close out of the grant. Participants will receive foundational and practical knowledge in the following subjects and topics:
• PA Declaration process
• Preliminary Damage Assessment
• Requests for Assistance
• Damage Impact Inventory
• Logical Grouping
• Streamlined Applications
• FEMA Review Steps and Processes for Fund Obligation
• How to receive Reimbursements after Obligation
• Reporting and Documentation Requirements
• Final Reconciliation and Closeout
By the end of the course, participants will have a well-rounded understanding of the PA process from beginning to end in order to more efficiently help their communities recover post disaster event.

This is a 2-day course. This class is split into different times:

Day one is 12 pm to 4 pm
Day two is 8 am to 12 pm

If lodging/meal is requested, GOHSEP will coordinate with LEPA & the Double Tree Hotel and will send out a confirmation email to participants. DEADLINE for requesting lodging/meals: July 1, 2025) Confirmation emails will be sent by July 7th or before. Check-in will be after 3:00 pm on July 8th (after class) pending request.
