After taking this three-hour course, the student will be able to identify the differences between information and intelligence in the homeland security enterprise while gaining a greater understanding of the national intelligence community. The student is given opportunities to take training blocks to further their understanding of suspicious activity and the legality of government agencies maintaining appropriate intelligence data. Finally, the student will be able to identify the historic need for an information-sharing environment between intelligence agencies and identify their fusion center based on their own brief research.

During this course, participants will be provided with an overview of Critical infrastructure protection that can be used to protect critical infrastructure and key resources and their assets from terrorist acts. Participants will be able to define critical infrastructure and key resources, identify critical infrastructure sectors, understand the importance of protecting critical infrastructure, understand and discuss public-private partnerships, define and understand legislation and programs designed to assist in the protection of critical infrastructure and the importance of risk assessments to protect from criminal activity and terrorist attacks.

"This course provides participants an introduction to the standard Package Review Checklist and how to use the Package Review Checklist to review a Project Worksheet’s Damage Dimension and Description, Scope of Work, Cost Estimate, and General Comments. Additional items related to the Package Review process are discussed, such as: versions, category, project size, uploads of original and approved Project Worksheets, Funding Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding, insurance requirements, time extensions, overpayments, and any outstanding actions. The goal of the Active Shooter Exercise Development Workshop is to provide first responder and city, county, and state officials with the knowledge, skills and abilities to lead an Active Shooter Tabletop Exercise.

Scope
Past Active shooter events have proven the need for realistic exercises delivered in the community. This course answers that need by providing a train the trainer (TtT) course on how to design and deliver a Tabletop exercise (TTX). This course will also provide template materials needed to deliver five (5) different TTXs, with one (1) of the five TTXs delivered in the afternoon of the training day.

This course provides a basic understanding of the theories and principles for the application of physical security to protect DOD assets. The course focuses on physical security, the roles people play in the physical security program, and physical security planning and implementation. In addition, it introduces the concept of security-in-depth and explores how countermeasures are developed and deployed to deter, delay, detect, or prevent attacks.

This course provides a thorough understanding of the physical security measures available for implementing the protection of Department of Defense (DOD) assets. The course defines the use and purpose of each measure. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, security in-depth, intrusion detection systems, fencing, guard forces, and closed circuit television.

This course provides an overview of the physical security planning and implementation process within the Department of Defense (DOD) physical security program for those with physical security duties and other security professionals. It includes lessons that provide background and context about physical security planning, implementation concepts, and how the risk management model drives physical security planning and implementation. Other areas covered in this course include exploring the documents that are used in physical security planning and implementation, The DOD Antiterrorism Program, and Oversight and Inspection processes.
